Fall 2020 Tuition and FAQs

We look forward to welcoming our children safely back to school. All campuses – Copperfield, North Cypress, and Cypress Creek – will open on Monday August 3 from 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. As we begin the Fall 2020 term, our first goal is to make your little one feel at home.

Our revised hours allow us time for sanitation before and after children come to school. If you need extra time at pick up, please email us.

FAQs

WHEN ARE SCHOOL HOURS?
School will be open from 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM. We need to operate at those hours to ensure staff have time to complete sanitation protocol – in addition to ongoing sanitation procedures during the day. The school will also continue its regular professional deep clean daily.

If you need extra hours at pick up, please email us.

WHO CAN ATTEND?
All families can attend.

ARE ALL CAMPUSES OPEN?
Yes, all three of our campuses are open. Due to increased regulatory requirements and increased sanitation protocols, we have modified our operating schedule and classroom environments. These include changes like temperature checks, wearing face masks (required for faculty), a separate sick room, modified use of Montessori materials and independent work spaces, hand washing reminders, and more. Additional details are in our health and safety policy, included in your paperwork.

HOW MUCH IS TUITION?
Please see above for pricing information. We prefer that all payments are electronic via Zelle or direct bank transfer (ACH). We will also be glad to share our bank account number for direct deposits online or in-person to our Bank of America account. Direct Deposits are also a good way to get an instant receipt for your deposits.

IS THERE ADDITIONAL PAPERWORK TO COMPLETE?
Yes, there is additional required paperwork that can be completed at home. All children must complete the paperwork, even if they attended in Summer 2020. Children should also be prepared to bring required supplies (see above). Paperwork is due on your child’s first day at drop off. You’re welcome to email a completed digital copy to school8007@gmail.com or bring a completed hard copy.

ARE CHILDREN REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS?
All employees, parents, caregivers, and emergency pick ups must wear a face mask/covering when on the school premises. In Harris County, masks are only recommended for children ages 10 years and up. Teachers cannot guarantee that a child will always retain the mask.

WILL THERE BE NAP TIME?
All students will be required to take a rest period (maximum 1 hour for Kindergarten and Children’s House students). All students will participate in special Master Classes, including Art, Spanish, and Gardening (beginning in September 2020).

WILL THERE BE PICTURE DAY AND EXTRACURRICULAR CLASSES?
In the Fall, per the Governor’s orders, we will not invite external visitors on campus. This affects our ability to do a Fall Picture Day and Extracurricular Classes such as Chess, Ballet, and Soccer. We will continue to monitor the Governor’s office, public health information, and CDC guidelines to determine when external visitors are permitted on campus. This will not affect visitors that complement the school curriculum, such as visitors from Houston’s international Consular Corps. They will join us virtually for sessions to enhance our regular curricular offerings in the Fall.

WHO DO I CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
We’re happy to help with questions about birthdays, tuition, concerns, and other inquiries. Email us at school8007@gmail.com, and we’ll be able to follow up personally.

HOW DO I COMMUNICATE WITH MY CHILD’S TEACHER?
Teachers are available by appointment only. Please email us to schedule an appointment. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the school recommends virtual visits or phone calls. Our parents join our school because they trust in our experience of over 24 years. Our teachers’ primary job is to care and nurture your child, and they are also happy to share feedback. We recommend connecting with your child’s teacher 1 – 2 weeks after your child begins in school, so the Montessori Guide has time to observe your child.

DO PARENTS HAVE TO WEAR A MASK?
Yes, all parents must wear a mask on the school campus per Harris County policy.

HOW WILL THE SCHOOL COMMUNICATE WITH ME?
The best way to connect with the school is via email (school8007@gmail.com), and we are responsive. Due to the pandemic, our faculty are available by appointment only. We also share updates via a Weekly Email Newsletter (“Weekly Update”) and Facebook. Be sure to let us know your expectations on communications (i.e. how often you like to connect), so we can plan ahead and share updates on your little one’s progress. Quality Montessori education requires conversation and an exchange of feedback since our data collection is observation-based. We are unable to do written reports and weekly written notes.
