Our Spanish Immersion Montessori Program at our North Cypress campus (11707 Huffmeister Road) meets the developmental needs of children in our Toddler (ages 18 months to 2 ½ years) and Children’s House communities (2 ½ – 6 years) – in addition to Spanish language learning.
The benefits of becoming bilingual are numerous. Over 550 million people – about 8% of the world’s population – speak Spanish, and the language is considered the fourth most powerful language in the world, behind French, Mandarin Chinese, and English. Bilingual people switch between two language systems, demonstrating an active and flexible brain, improved mathematical understanding, and strong critical thinking skills. Bilingual children also have opportunities to engage in a global community, exploring people and cultures different than their own.
In our classroom, the Lead Montessori Guide uses a natural language approach, interacting with children and practicing the language in the same way a language is learned from birth.
In addition to mastering a second language, our children benefit from the Montessori Method, learning to be confident and independent while mastering concepts in numbers, science, language, geography, music, and art.
