TUITION

Summer 2021 Tuition remains the same as your current tuition. In June and July 2021, in order to support our families’ travel plans, we can help calculate tuition by the week.

The Summer Material Fee (June and July 2021) is $60.

TOPICS

During the summer, children continue their day-to-day Montessori work in addition to exploring monthly thematic units. In June 2021, children will explore the culture, history, and geography of Mexico, and in July 2021, children will explore robotics.

In June 2021, children will travel to Mexico and explore its rich heritage and culture. At the beginning of the month, children will learn the history of the Mexican flag and basic Spanish conversation. Afterwards, children will explore the contributions of Aztec and Mayan civilization, learning about their calendar systems, architectural wonders, and art. Students will later learn about contemporary artists like Frida Kahlo. Our children will have a blast experiencing Mexican celebrations like El Día Del Niño, Día de los Muertos, and Las Posadas. We will end the month making delicious Mexican recipes like tortillas from scratch and conclude our study with a grand Kermes, a Mexican carnival with games and activities that celebrates the spirit of community. Children will also continue their day-to-day Montessori work.

JULY 2021 | The Robotics Lab (STEM)

In July 2021, students will enter our Robotics Lab and learn the fundamentals of robotics and engineering design. We will learn concepts in logic, review basic math, and understand key words and vocabulary in robotics. We will get creative by brainstorming how we use robots in our day-to-day life, creating imaginary robots through artistic activities, and imagining new uses for robots together! Children will have fun applying their new skills by designing a robot and taking it home at the end of our study. Children will also continue their day-to-day Montessori work.

FAQs

WHO CAN ATTEND?
All current, enrolled Montessori Preschool families can attend. Siblings and Alumni have priority to join during the summer, based on space availability.

WHAT DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING?
Children should bring their nap mat, a healthy lunch, water bottle, and extra clothes. Toddlers and Infants should bring their diapers, wipes, and any required toilet training supplies. Avoid bringing outside toys, play jewelry, or precious items. Like during the school year, snacks are provided by the school twice a day.

ARE ALL CAMPUSES OPEN?
Yes, all three of our campuses are open. Due to increased sanitation protocols, we have modified our operating schedule and classroom environments. These include changes like temperature checks, wearing face masks (required for faculty), a separate sick room, modified use of Montessori materials and independent work spaces, hand washing reminders, and more. Additional details are in our health and safety policy, which was signed at the beginning of the 2020 – 2021 school year.

HOW MUCH IS TUITION?
Tuition remains the same in Summer 2021. We prefer that all payments are electronic via Zelle or direct bank transfer (ACH). We will also be glad to share our bank account number for direct deposits online or in-person to our Bank of America account. Direct Deposits are also a good way to get an instant receipt for your deposits.

WHEN WILL MY CHILD TRANSITION TO THE NEXT CLASS LEVEL?
We will communicate personally with families preparing for the transition process. Toddlers transiting to the Children’s House are expected to be fully toilet trained. This means a child is independent in the restroom and knows (1) when to use the toilet (2) how to remove their clothing without accidents (3) how to sit comfortably on the toilet (4) how to wipe themselves, flush, and wash their hands without aid. We recommend children complete toilet training by age 3 (or earlier). Toilet training is always parent-led, school-supported.

HOW DO I COMMUNICATE WITH MY CHILD’S TEACHER?
Teachers are available by appointment only. Please email us to schedule an appointment. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the school recommends virtual visits or phone calls.

DO PARENTS HAVE TO WEAR A MASK?
Yes, all parents must wear a mask on the school campus.

WHO DO I CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
