Cy-Fair Parents Release Cookbook

Cy-Fair Families came together to create Yummy in my Tummy: A Cookbook by Montessori Families.

These recipes are made for families, by families. Inspired by the Montessori tradition, each recipe is a step-by-step guide to prepare yummy, kid-friendly meals for children ages 18 months to 6 years. The book is divided into two sections: Breakfast as well as Lunch & Dinner. From the classic Filipino Chicken Adobo to German Pancakes to Louisiana-style Crawfish Fettucine, this cookbook covers a range of global foods that are kid-tested and kid- approved.

Ms. Nicole Seaton, Parent Ambassador at Montessori Preschool @ Copperfield, said: “As a Montessori parent, I’ve found that easy-to-prepare meals and a lot of love go a long way. This cookbook is a guide to make healthy, nutritious meals, the Montessori way. It showcases the global community in our school and across Cy-Fair, with accessible recipes that any parent can use for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.”

Children love cutting vegetables and fruits, baking, setting the table, or pouring their favorite drink. These exercises – also known as Practical Life in the Montessori classroom – help children develop independence and coordination, critical for long-term success in class and life.

Special thanks to our Parent Ambassador, Ms. Nicole Seaton for compiling the book and our Bear Moms, Ms. Keshia Duhon, Ms. Maulishree  Kansara, Ms. Missy Khan, Ms. Alexis Sammons and Ms. Katja Stein for their ongoing support.
